Iosepa, Utah: The Hawaiian Colony in Skull Valley That Still Gathers Every Memorial Day
Iosepa was a Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Latter-day Saint colony in Utah’s Skull Valley from 1889 to 1917. It grew into a green, award-winning farm town with piped water, then emptied after a temple was announced in Hawai’i. The cemetery and monument remain, and descendants still gather there every Memorial Day.
